The Web of Know-How
PhD project conducted at the University of Edinburgh. The goal of the Web of Know-How is to make know-how smarter and more accessible on the Web both by humans and machines. Know-how is intended in a broad sense, and it include things like recipes, instructions, procedures, etc. This project dealt with tasks such as aquiring and processing know-how corpora with NLP and ML, data modelling and large scale data integration.
Post-doctoral research project at the University of Southampton. Augmented Safety through Smart EnvironmenTs (ASSET) focuses on bridging the gap between sensor data and policies (e.g. health and safety policies), to reduce dependence on human experts, and increase resilience to unexpected events. Tasks involved in this project include modelling sensor capabilities and sensor data transformations (IoT middleware), database schema inferences, interfacing with natural language policies, simulation-based testing and crowdsourcing.
Post-doctoral research project at the University of Southampton. SEMANTIC is an industry-collaboration research project aimed at testing the benefits of graph technologies in the maritime domain, to manage complex data sources characterised by different types of uncertainty.
